Neon is a social VR game where you build worlds, visit other people's worlds, and talk with other players. This page explains what information Neon collects, why, who it's shared with, and how you can have it deleted.
What we collect
Your Neon account
- Username and password. Your password is stored by our account provider (Microsoft PlayFab) and we never see it.
- Email address, only if you choose to add one (for password recovery).
- An account ID, and a random ID for each headset you log in on so it can keep you logged in.
Things you make and upload
- Worlds you publish, including their name, description, picture, and everything in them. Published worlds are public: anyone in Neon can see and visit them, along with your username as the creator.
- Assets you upload on this website (3D models, pictures, sounds, videos, and avatars). Only you can see them until you use them in a world you publish.
- Your avatar settings, and the address of an avatar file you uploaded if you wear one. Other players see your avatar.
When you play with other people
- While you're in a world with others, your username, avatar, and head and hand movement are sent to the other players in real time.
- Voice chat is sent live to the people in the same world. Neon does not record or store voice chat. You can turn your microphone off in the People tab.
- Reports you send, and reports about you, including the usernames involved, the reason, and which world or room it happened in.
On your headset only
- Worlds you're still building, your settings, and your lists of muted people, blocked people, and hidden worlds stay on your headset unless you publish.
- Photos and videos you take with the in-game camera are saved to your headset's gallery. Neon doesn't upload them.
Automatically
- Our service providers receive the technical information any online service needs, such as your IP address and device type, and keep logs to run and protect their services.
- When Neon starts, it asks Meta to confirm that your Meta account owns the app. We don't receive your Meta profile.
How we use it
- To run the game: logging you in, saving and showing published worlds and assets, and connecting you with other players.
- To keep Neon safe: reviewing reports, enforcing the Code of Conduct, and removing content or accounts that break it.
- To fix problems and improve the game.
We don't sell your information, and Neon has no ads.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run Neon for us, each under its own privacy policy:
- Microsoft PlayFab
- Accounts, published worlds, uploaded assets, and reports.
- Photon (Exit Games)
- Real-time multiplayer and voice chat between players.
- LIV
- The in-game camera (LIV Creator Kit). LIV may receive basic usage information about the camera.
- Meta
- Confirming you own the app, through the Meta Horizon platform.
- Vercel
- Hosting this website.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect players from harm.
Deleting your data
- Worlds and assets: you can delete your own published worlds in the game (My Worlds) and your uploaded assets on this website at any time.
- Your whole account: email crazytrain89898@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Neon account" and your Neon username. We'll confirm the account is yours, then delete the account and everything published or uploaded with it within 30 days.
- On your headset: uninstalling Neon removes everything it saved there.
We keep account information while your account exists. Reports may be kept for up to a year after they're handled, so we can deal with repeat problems.
Children
Neon is for people 13 and older. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
